Help us preserve our history for generations to come!

The volunteers and staff who maintain the Geneva Lake Museum are proud to share the rich history of the Geneva Lake area with the public. There is always more to be done—from updating exhibits and developing new display areas to assisting with museum events, guiding and educating visitors, conducting historical research, and tackling both small and ongoing projects. Much of what makes the museum possible is accomplished through the dedication of our volunteers.

  • Docents & Guides

Welcome visitors to the museum, provide a historical overview of the Geneva Lake area, and answer questions about exhibits and local history. Volunteers may also assist with school and group tours, help guests navigate the museum, and offer clues and encouragement for the Eye Spy game, creating an engaging and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages.

  • Floor Monitors & Security

Help ensure a safe, enjoyable, and respectful environment for all museum visitors. Volunteers monitor exhibit areas to promote guest safety and protect museum collections by enforcing museum policies, including no running and no food or beverages in exhibit spaces. Floor monitors also help ensure that artifacts and exhibits are not touched, handled, sat on, climbed on, or otherwise damaged. Volunteers report broken or missing exhibit items, burned-out light bulbs, and other maintenance concerns to museum staff. This role is ideal for individuals who are observant, friendly, and committed to preserving the museum’s collections for future generations.
